RHYNE WINES is, first and foremost, a family business—built on a shared passion for exceptional wine, hard work, and the belief that great things are created together.

Our story began in 1993 in Sonoma County, California, where co-founders Bénédicte and Richy Rhyne first met. Bénédicte was part of the winemaking team at Ravenswood Winery, while Richy managed the warehouse operations for Draper & Esquin, one of San Francisco's premier wine importers. Their shared appreciation for fine wine, combined with a deep alignment of values, laid the foundation for both a lifelong partnership and a future family business.

 

After welcoming their first two children, the Rhynes sought new opportunities and made the move from California to Texas. When they discovered the rolling landscapes of the Texas Hill Country, Bénédicte was immediately reminded of her native France. Inspired by the region's beauty and convinced of its untapped potential for world-class winemaking, the family settled in Fredericksburg in 2002.

 

For more than two decades, Bénédicte has remained steadfast in her belief that Texas could earn its place among the world's respected wine regions. That vision has become the foundation of RHYNE WINES.

Today, the next generation is helping carry that vision forward. Their oldest son followed his mother's path into the wine industry, earning his degree in Winemaking in 2024. Their daughter brings her creativity and passion for marketing and brand development, while their youngest son continues to grow alongside the family business.
